About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Communication Specialist to support military healthcare and disability evaluation programs serving active-duty, reserve, and veteran populations. This position plays a critical role in developing communication products, training materials, briefings, educational content, and stakeholder engagement initiatives supporting complex healthcare and personnel programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within military healthcare, Disability Evaluation System (DES), Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES), Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), or related military personnel and healthcare environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training materials, presentations, briefings, and educational content for military healthcare stakeholders.
  • Create communication products including SOPs, user guides, process documentation, newsletters, informational materials, and program updates.
  • Coordinate communication efforts among military leadership, healthcare providers, program managers, and support organizations.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities and facilitate information sharing across multiple organizations.
  • Conduct research, gather program information, and prepare written reports, summaries, and executive-level communications.
  • Assist with outreach initiatives designed to improve awareness and understanding of healthcare and disability evaluation programs.
  • Support training events, workshops, orientation programs, and informational briefings.
  • Review and update communication materials to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex processes into user-friendly materials and guidance documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting military healthcare programs, personnel programs, or federal government operations.
  • Knowledge of Disability Evaluation System (DES) and/or Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES).
  • Experience working with Medical Evaluation Boards (MEB), Physical Evaluation Boards (PEB), or related disability evaluation processes.
  • Background developing training materials, presentations, briefings, or educational content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing reports, executive summaries, or stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant military, healthcare, personnel, or federal program experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
