Job Description

Founding BCBA / Clinical Leader

Confidential Client | Columbia, MO

Build an ABA Program From the Ground Up

Recruit ABA has partnered with an established healthcare organization preparing to launch a new ABA division.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced BCBA who wants more than simply managing a caseload. We’re seeking a clinical leader who wants to help build an ABA program, shape its culture, influence key decisions, and become part of a long-term growth strategy.

If you’ve ever wanted to help create a clinic the right way instead of inheriting someone else’s systems, we’d love to talk.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Our client is launching a new ABA program backed by an established healthcare organization with significant operational resources and long-term financial stability.

Unlike many startup environments, you’ll have the support needed to focus on building an exceptional clinical program while maintaining a meaningful voice in organizational decisions.

This is a clinician-first culture where quality care, ethical decision-making, and long-term growth are prioritized.

What You’ll Do

As the Founding BCBA, you’ll help establish the clinical foundation of the organization by:

  • Developing clinical processes and treatment standards
  • Helping establish supervision and mentorship systems
  • Participating in hiring and team development
  • Assisting with clinic operations and workflow design
  • Collaborating with leadership on strategic growth
  • Building relationships with families and community partners
  • Helping create a positive, clinician-focused culture

This position offers significant influence over how the organization grows.

First-Year Focus

Rather than stepping into a fully operational clinic, you’ll help prepare the organization for long-term success.

Early responsibilities may include:

  • Developing systems and workflows
  • Assisting with operational planning
  • Supporting recruiting efforts
  • Evaluating clinical software and documentation platforms
  • Creating training resources
  • Helping build an outstanding team

As the clinic matures, you’ll transition into a leadership-focused role with increasing strategic responsibilities.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Holds an active BCBA certification
  • Enjoys leadership and mentoring
  • Thinks beyond day-to-day clinical responsibilities
  • Has strong organizational and communication skills
  • Wants to influence the direction of a growing organization
  • Values ethical, individualized care
  • Enjoys collaborating across multidisciplinary teams

Leadership experience is preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and leadership potential.

Compensation

Competitive compensation package including:

  • Base salary approximately $115,000–$130,000+, depending on experience
  • $10,000 retention bonus paid throughout the first year
  • Health benefits
  • Retirement plan with employer contribution
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Long-term advancement potential

Exceptional candidates may receive additional consideration.
